Cooperation with Indian Travel Agencies Expands

In the city of Amritsar, the tourist and business center of the Indian state of Punjab, a meeting was held with representatives of the tourist and hotel business.  The event was organized by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Delhi and the Representative Office of Uzbekistan Airways in Amritsar.  At the meeting, held in an open dialogue format, the participants were presented with a presentation of the tourism potential of Uzbekistan and the services of the national air carrier.

Members of the Association of Travel Agencies of the State of Punjab, representatives of business circles and companies operating in the tourism sector were also informed about preferences for charter flights, the introduction of an “open skies” regime at 5 airports in the country, favorable conditions for implementing audio-visual projects, and benefits for investors in the construction of hotel complexes in the republic.

During the event, an agreement was reached on organizing in the near future info-tours for Punjabi companies in Uzbekistan.  Ashwani Gupta, Chairman of the Association of Travel Agencies of the State of Punjab: “Due to the simplification of visa procedures and generally fundamental reforms in the country's tourism sector, the popularity of Uzbekistan as a tourist route is growing day by day.  Moreover, your country is one of the five safest countries in the world.  We see Uzbekistan as a promising destination for travel, organizing wedding tours and filming films by Indian filmmakers”.
